Saturday...

Today was a good day... I slept in (compared to this past week anyway... Compared to the week before this, I was up REALLY early) and then my Gran and Pa came over for lunch. I had a devon and salad roll.. It was really yummy..

Mum, Gran and I went downtown. I bought Mum's mother's day present (a pair of runners), two shirts for work, and a pair of shoes for work... And then we came home, Dad got hit in the eye with something while he was using the angle grinder, but he seems to be alrightish... Gran and Pa went home at about 4.30, I read my diary from Bourke Mission Trip 2002, got a phone call from a lady at Church (can someone remind me that I am babysitting on Tuesday night??) and then I rang a friend until he had to go for dinner in the dining room... And then I think I checked emails, made another devon and salad roll for dinner, watched a repeat of Comedy Inc. (I think it is Comedy Inc. anyway) and then I decided that I was going to go and get a movie to watch, so I went up to Kooringal and hired out The Notebook, and while I was there I got all but the rest of Catriona and Anna's birthday presents... And then I came home and have been watching The Notebook ever since - It is a good movie... Bit of a chickflick though...

Anyway, I had better think about going to sleep shortly (am already in bed as I write this cos it is COLD!!)

Nighty Night!!

I'm bad...

I'm reeeaaalll bad.

(And for those of you who don't understand, next time you see me or talk to me, ask me about Grumbleface...)

Why am I bad? I have eaten everything I shouldn't have. Iced chocolate: caffine, dairy and sugar. Ice-cream: dairy and sugar. Frozen hamburger meat things: who-knows-what-is-in-it... And now I feel rather sick.

CrossOver was good. First night back this term, and it was also Burger Night. And we introduced Mission Spot (ABWAid) and started the book of Acts. We used the projector!! (and some people should be saying "wow-ser" [Bega-word!] at that comment...) And then after CrossOver had finished and the youth had gone home, we planned what we were doing next week - I don't have any prep to do!! (We haven't orgainised this term's calender yet...)

I just figured out why I am so tired... It is 11.30 - I have been in bed by 10.30-10.45 every night since starting work... I need to stretch out for Sunday and Monday nights I think...

My eyes are itchy, and I am FREEZING!!!

I am going to finish up conversations and then think about heading to bed... Nighty night!!

I like Fridays now!

Fridays are fantastic. Want to know why? (Even if you don't I am going to tell you anyway...) Not only is it the end of the working week, and the night that CrossOver is on, but now, wait for it... Friday = Pay Day!!! Fantastic!! (I got paid today... Can you guess I'm just a little happy??)

Anyway... Today was the last day that Corine was at work, and that meant that I had to take in as much information as possible... We had to chase up some public liability and workers comp insurance certificates, and I have to enter some of them into my computer at work on Monday, and I also have to finish the (now) current (will be last month's) accounts on Monday too, and I have to collect rent from Hayden in one of the warehouses, AND I also have to answer to Michelle from the site foreman. Busy day on Monday!! AND I also have to meet my other boss, Scott (he has been away all week, and Chris has been in and out of the office...)

This weekend? I really don't know! CrossOver tonight, who knows on Saturday (any ideas anyone) and Churches on Sunday... And then back to work on Monday (Corine told me that I had to turn up on Monday, cos they would be lost without me...)

Anyway... I have a feeling that I was meant to do the narration for Mission Spot for tonight, and I have to be there in about... an hour... Hmm... Better go!

Hope you all had as great a Friday as what I did, and I shall see/talk to you all shortly.

Links

Okay... So I just saw Tim C's comment about links... If you too would like to have your site and/or blog linked to from my blog, leave me a comment, or e-mail me (click on the link over there ---->) and I'll link.

:)

Day Two...

Work was once again good... I learnt more about the accounts system, and met most of the guys who work for Nash Bros Constructions (although, I haven't met one of the bosses yet..)

Sorry to anyone who has been trying to contact me by mobile all afternoon... I haven't had any reception, so it isn't my fault!! Honest!!

Going out for lunch tomorrow for the girl who I am replacing's farewell... She has been with the company for 6 months, and seems to know everyone.. But that's alright.. I am sure I will get to know people and procedures fairly soonly...

Anyway... I am going to wait for another 15 mins until A Current Affair is over (Dad is watching it) and then watch the rest of Tuesday night's Rove. And then I am planning on going to bed shortly after... Nighty night all!

Work was good...

Hey hey everyone...

Work was really good... Did a bit of telephone answering, faxing (I know how to use the fax machine!!), word processing, mail collecting and opening, taking notes, filing, making coffees and teas, having the photocopier break and having the repair man having to come out, being made the network administrator for e-mails etc... (anyone else a bit scared by that??)...

I am really tired. I slept basically right through the news... And I am trying to keep my eyes open during McLeod's, and I don't think I'll stay awake for Glasshouse, or to watch Rove which I taped last night...

Anyway... Going to focus more on McLeod's... (I have a cramp in my left foot!!!! Arghhhh!!) (Make that one in each foot!!)

Yesterday... (Because I forgot/couldn't blog last night)

Yesterday was a fantastic day!! Although I had to get up at 6.10am, it was still good...

Had a 7.30am interview at Turvey Tops Pharmacy... They told me it was am, but it was actually meant to be pm, but they interviewed me when they got there at 7.45 anyway...

Then I fell asleep in front of the tv (I think it was the Disney Playhouse or something, which is after Sunrise on ch. 7).

I had an interview (another one) at 2pm with Nash Brothers Construction for a Jnr Admin Trainee position... After my interview they still had a few more to go, but within an hour of my interview starting, I had recieved the phonecall from the employment agency that I had gotten the position!! Less than an hour!! And they had other applicants to interview!!

So I start work in less than an hour. I'm pretty excited...

Anyway, I had better go and keep getting ready...

(You do realise that me working = less blogging?! [maybe])

Walrus...

This isn't completely random like the pelican one, but, you'll have to take a trip over to Sam's WOTW blog to figure it out (I am still trying to figure out the turnip chips...)

Walruses (walrii??) are easily identified by two large tusks protrouding from their mouths (each walruses mouth - they don't have multiple mouths...). They are the only pinnipeds that have these tusks. These tusks can grow to be over one metre in length. (They'd be heavy teeth...). They have thick skin up to 4cms thick, and have up to 15cms of fat underneath that skin. This fat helps keep them warm in the artic waters.

Male walruses can grow to 4 metres and weigh up to 1600kg, and females 2.6m and 1250kg. Male walruses sexually mature at 15 years of age, and females at 7-8 (although, they can mature as young as 4!). Gestation lasts 15 months, and lactation is 1 to 2 years. Some female walruses produce a pup every other year, but usually every third year. Walruses live for in excess of 40 years.

Walruses are carnivores. They eat clams, snails, worms, mussels, sea cucumbers, and other animals that live on the sea floor. They may also eat seals if they are really starving, even though they are close relatives.

Walruses are hunted not only by humans (for their ivory tusks, meat and skin), but also by killer whales and polar bears. They live on the edge of the artic sheet inhabiting the ice-floes in the shallower waters of the artic (in NORTH AMERICA Sam!!), moving south for the winter, and north for the summer.

Walruses live both on land and in water. They are very efficent swimmers, swimming up to 35km/h, averaging 7km/h. They live in large groups, often with in excess of 2000 other walruses. These creatures have the ability to walk as fast as humans on land. Instead of dragging their behinds like seals, they are able to walk on all fours.

Walruses sleep in the water. They fill air sacs under their throats with air, which enables them to bob vertically in the water and sleep. (I wonder if they wake up disoriented because they wouldn't know where the tide would take them as they are sleeping...)

ANZAC day

Well I got up early and made ANZAC biscuits (and apparently The Big Arvo also made ANZAC biscuits today...) and then tried to find out the WOTW, but couldn't, so I continued to get ready for the cricket game and the rest of the day. I was late(ish) to the cricket game (CSU vs. The World) but they hadn't finished setting up, so it was all all good. I got to score for the game - so much for a "relaxed non-competitive game"... CSU won 117 to 115. I was cheering, even though thinking about it, technically I should have been barracking for The World team, seeing that I am not a CSUer.

After the game, we had a BBQ, then played hackey sack before moving on to soccer (once again a "friendly" match)... I ended up having to sit down cos of my toe (I seem to have lots of issues with my toes...)... Then I got petrol (after leaving Bolton Park) and headed out to the Uni, where Eleanor, Steve and Naomi watched The Village in Eleanor's room while I attempted to do the beginnings of "How To Use Microsoft Office Effectively" for my grandma... I gave up and watched the movie... That orange chair is really uncomfortable, and the blue light on the speaker is really bright.

Then after the movie finished, and after a bit more time had passed, we went to dinner at the Wilson's place with the Growth Group I am part of and another Growth Group. It was good. I just got home.

Seeing that it is Monday (and it is past 1pm [ANZAC day excuses]) don't forget to check out Sam's WOTW site... The link is still over there ------>... Wait until atleast tomorrow and I shall write up about the WOTW word, attempting to be creative but still informative...

Anyway... Must e-mail this to Sam, and then head to bed... I have two interviews tomorrow: one at 7.30am and one at 2pm... And I have been reminded that I must watch Rove tomorrow night... And I need to atleast think about making Chocolate Fudge (not that I can eat it, but I did tell Steve and Naomi and Eleanor that I would bring Choc Fudge next time...(They got ANZAC biscuits today)... I felt really bad having to leave the chocolate cake on my plate [for John to then eat] at the Wilson's)...

Um... I really should be heading to bed...

Nighty night!!

A pretty unevenful day...

The title explains it all. Really.

AM Church, CrossOver meeting (for about 10mins during m.tea time @ AM Church), took friends back to the Uni, got some music from Steve, came home, copied some CDs for a couple of hours, had some breakfast, ironed my shirt (yes!! I ironed my own shirt!! And it wasn't an easy shirt to iron either!!), went to UniChurch [really good sermon about death - count your days, not your decades/years/months/weeks - days! And labour for the Lord is not labour in vain (Psalm 90 and 1 Cor 15:50-58)], got asked if I was attempting to dress like an Aggie (green and white checkered 3/4 shirt and jeans... No... I was not trying to look like an Aggie, I wanted to wear a shirt that I hadn't worn for ages [cos I found that it now fits me!!] and when do I not wear jeans to PM Church??), went to Maccas on the way home, and dropped Amy off at the Red. Got home at about 11, got the ingredients ready for cooking ANZAC biscuits in the morning, and then hopped into bed. And now that it is past midnight and I am aiming to get up (and be awake too) at 7, I should be heading to sleep.

Nighty night all!!

I Won!!!

Hehehe... Thanks Sam... You do realise that I wasn't setting out to "win" (I didn't even know there was a competition [was there one, or were you just having a go at me and how much I wrote?!]) but instead find a remedy for boredom?

What did I do today? I woke up Steve at 9.45 (yes!! I was out of bed and awake at 9.45 - just!)... Read the classifieds section of the paper looking for job ads, did some cleaning, hung out the washing, went downtown, bought the beginnings of Anna and Catriona's birthday presents... Internetted, ate some dinner, and then went and sat around the bon fire with yet another family from Church (lots of families in my AM Church, not as many in my PM Church [like, 2])... Had a shower which ended up being cold, and now winding down and heading for sleep...

Looking out my window I can see a few bonfires still burning away... It is very pretty actually... When I first went down to the fire we sat around, the big gum tree in the middle of our driveway (the one that the circuit bit goes around for those who know) was all lit up by the light of the flames, and the full moon was lighting up the clouds - I wish I had my camera with me... Actually, no, I wish I had a decent camera, and had it with me to do the photo justice... Oh well...

New WOTW in 2 days time!!

(I'm not half a fan of these words!! [Much to Jaye's dislike :P])

Friday part two

Um. Not a whole lot more to add since this afternoon's post. Went to a family from Church's place for dinner - had apricot chicken and tea and date pudding (I didn't know it had tea [caffine] in it until I had finished it)... It was good...

I'm tired. I'm reeeeeal tired.

I didn't say anything yesterday!!

I don't believe it!!

Oh well.

See!! ------> You can now click on that link over there ------> (the one that is orange and just above the "links" title) and e-mail me!! I am so proud of myself... I didn't know what I was doing, but it worked, and does work... But I have no idea how to make it so that it isn't orange, and so that there is a line between it and the "links" title...

Have a second interview on Tuesday (at 7.30 in the MORNING!!) as a result of the interview last Monday, and another interview on Tuesday afternoon...

Um. Um.

I think I might have slightly scared both Anna and Catriona by asking them lots of "favourite..." questions... They are just going to have to wait and find out what it was all about!!

Anyways... The music has stopped (I was listening to 7:30 "home" - was good) and now must find the botheration and motivation to get up and do the washing!

How goes it?

I'm bored. I didn't do a lot today. (Do I ever do anything much?) I did get most of the multimedia for CrossOver done though... In fact, that's what I did for most of the day...

I just sent out a whole bunch of 18th invites by email. Didn't get one? Think you deserve one? Or just want an 18th invitation? Leave a comment/E-mail me [and those few from Growth Group that might read this and wonder "where's mine?" - wait until next Biblestudy, or leave your email address and I'll send you one that way - you will get one!]

Think that's all I had to say tonight... Once again all I am allowed to say! (There is something that I am not yet allowed to say... Might have to wait until after Mother's Day [:P Rosie!!])

Monday Monday... Hang on, I'm talking about Tuesday...

Don't mind me... Really... I'm fine... Just sleep deprived...

Didn't really do a whole lot today... Had a CrossOver meeting tonight, have another one Sunday after AM Church, and I have to get the multimedia presentation done before then so that it can be combined with some of the other multimedia stuff (we are getting technical this term!! AND we are actually going to be using the projector!!) [Someone keeps on trying to hack into my computer... The pink Trend box is getting ratherly annoying...]

Yeah... That's about all that I am allowed to say at the moment... I am doing the multimedia now so that I don't have to do so much of it on Saturday night when I suddenly remember that I had to get that done for the next meeting (even though everything is going on my computer...)

Tomorrow: washing.

Monday 18th of whatever month it is

Good day!

Today was a good day actually...

I found out the word of the week tonight too (on a Monday that it was released rather than the following Sunday :-O !!!)... You'll have to take a waltz over to Sam's WOTW blog (the link is over there ---->) to check it out... Now just to work it into conversation... (Beware CrossOver leaders... I'll be attempting it tomorrow night...) (oo! And Sam's WOTW blog now has free-for-all comments, so make sure you leave a comment like what he has requested, and I am sure that it would be the longer the better [Sam has a lot of freetime on his hands...] so put your thinking caps on and think of something intelligent [or not so intelligent] and type away... [feel free to also comment on my blog too people!!])

I don't think there is a whole lot else to say really... I am super-tired, which is actually rather good... And I have a headache, which is not so good, but still brings on sleep, so is good...

Nighty night!!

Sunday

Today was um... interesting... kinda...

Didn't end up getting back to sleep until about 4.30 this morning, woke up at 8.30... This plus no sleep during the day (what I usually do when I have to get up early) equals a really tired me...

Wagga Baps this morning, UniChurch tonight... Yep... Uni students are back into classes tomorrow, so that meant that I had someone to sit with tonight (thanks Sam!)... Didn't do a whole lot this afternoon other than keep myself awake...

I have a job interview tomorrow at 3pm... And then BibleStudy at 7.30pm... And then Tuesday is a CrossOver leader's meeting for 6.30pm... And then I have no idea for the rest of the week...

Take a fly over to Sam's Word of the Week blog (the link is over there --->) to find out what the word of the week is this week (have to do this tomorrow afternoon/evening, cos he hadn't set up his computer so don't wake up early for it...)

Think that's about all for tonight.

Torah! (have to say it with an English accent like the guy on Art Attack - a show that used to be on on ABC at about 11am during the holidays... Torah!)

Sunday Morning

I have that No Doubt song in my head - you know, the one that they make spaghetti bolognaise in the video clip for? I don't really know what the song is about though... Anyway!!

Today's word is: Paper-towel.

So if I remember correctly (keeping in mind that it is 1.50am, I went to bed at 9.15pm, slept for an hour and been awake ever since!) the "poem" so far is:
Photoframe, doorframe
Lightshade, sunlight
Tea-towel, paper-towel

And I have no clues as to where that is going...

I have just thought of next weekend's words... I am going to save them in Word (this is reminding myself just as much as telling anyone who cares) under WotWknd - okay?!

Well, best be off to attempt to sleep...

Nighty night!!

(What is with me saying that at the moment? Am I not scaring people?! I am scaring myself!!)

The Words of the Weekend: Saturday

I can't believe it!! I had two great words picked out for this weekend, and Trina asked me what this weekend's words were (on Thursday no less) and I said that she would have to wait and find out... And now I can't remember what the words were!! Is this why you have a WotW Advisor, Sam?!

Today's word is: Tea-Towel.

(My parent's don't understand this Words of the Week(end) thing... Dad just said "been hanging around Sam too long I think"... And then they wanted to know what the WotW was so they could suggest some related words... Oh boy! [random phrase again Trina])

Maybe I'll just do Words of the Weekend during Uni holidays...

Some More of Yesterday's Photos...

And while I am waiting for the images to upload, I am going to babble!

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
That's Crackers - the other horse... She came galloping up towards the umbrella - and me underneath the umbrella... And straight after the photo she galloped back towards the duck pens because she heard Mum's car coming up the driveway (and that usually means food)...

What did I do today? Not a lot really... Woke at about 12 (again), sat around, internetted, played the piano, listened to music, talked to Mum and Dad... And then tonight I went to Woolies at Kooringal to buy something worthy of dinner that I could eat (Mum and Dad had some scrambled egg thing) so I got hotdogs and potato gems... They were alright...

(The next photo is still loading...)

I have a bug that keeps on running into the laptop screen...

I have gotten back into beading in the last couple of days... I made one necklace (the green and black one) last night, and then tried to "improve" it tonight, and thus had to take it all apart... And then I made another one tonight (orange and black) - that worked out alright... But I have learnt a new "beading stitch"... Just gotta work out how it works properly...

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

That's standing in the creek looking towards... upstream (although, that creek has been known to flow both ways...)... Looking towards Brunskill rd (if you know the area...)...

Okay... That's the two images... I'm going... I might head to bed soonishly...

Nighty night!

Thursday, April 14, 2005

I took a few photos today...

Here is just three of them (it took me a while to figure out what I might be doing [dunno if it will actually work though] and I might put some more up later)

:)

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
It was raining today!! Photo taken over the back fence (looking towards the lawn cemetry)... Raindrops are falling!!

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
Dead bunny!! I don't know how it was killed (I might ask Misty one day...) I was trying to find a live bunny that would stay still long enough for a photo, but alas it I could not find.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
Taken standing underneath the foot bridge that goes across the creek... It is made with railway sleepers, and it shakes as you walk on it (reason behind why we tend to walk down and up the bank instead)...

The Photos Eleven...

Yes, I do realise that the top one is number 11 and the last one is the first one...

This is the last one for tonight... This is the boot scrapper at our front door... I took this photo as part of Teh Forumnessessessess (whatever it is) random photos thread... My camera, no editing... And that should be photo number 11. (I did it Granny Be!)

This photo I took before we bought the house, but it is the creek that you have to go through to get to the house (I think that is looking towards the driveway)... My camera, no editing, July 03...

This is one over-looking the valley in which Kangaroo Valley (near Nowra) is located... Complete with the top of someone's head. Taken July 04 with my camera - no editing...

This is the kitten that my sister bought when I was visiting her last April holidays (last year that is)... It's name was Shnuggles... Unfortunately, Shnuggles had the cat-flu and when my sister and her boyfriend took it back to the animal shelter to get its shots, the vet said that poor little Shnuggles was too sick to have its shots, and that he would keep her over the weekend, and Shnuggles died on either Friday night or Saturday night... RIP Shnuggles...

This is the cat that we got with the house - Speedie. She isn't too speedie... She is, however, a specially breeded cat - a Manx. (Doesn't mean a whole lot to me either)... She doesn't have a tale, is constantly hungry, and eats minced kangaroo pet mince.

I have found some more of the animals... Misty again taken with my camera (which I have forgotten what it is)... No editing... (That's my car [the blue one] in the background!! Go Filly!!)

Wagga Wagga Combined Churches Carols by Candlelight 2004 in the Victory Memorial Gardens... (I can't say alot more... Granny Be wants 11 photos tonight... I'm running out of photos...)

This is one of our horses, Sasha (Crackers wouldn't stand still long enough to get her happy snap taken). Once again taken with the Canon A85, no editing, but editing needs to be done... How would I get rid of the flash in the eye someone?

This is Sparkie. We got Sparkie when Pepe died when I was in year 7, so that makes her... almost 6! (That's scary)... Recently known as Dusty because she took to rolling in the red dust left from the bobcat everytime she went outside... Her bed in the laundry wasn't just covered in the usual white hair, there was equal red dust and white hair. Sparkie tends to mault - a lot...

This is the cat that I got for my 14th (I think) birthday... Misty. Taken with the Canon A85 no editing.

This is in our front yard (taking into account that most of our 6.5 acres are in the front yard) just infont of the house... I think this was just after the locusts left, but we still have green grass!! Taken with the Canon A85 with no editing.

Pelicans...

I don't know why Grandpa EVK suggested Pelicans, but here goes...

The pelican (Pelecanus Conspicillatus) is the largest flying bird in Australia. It has a wingspan of 2.3-2.5m, and weighs 4.0-6.8kg. They typically live in coastal areas of the nation, but have been known to be seen in inland areas of Australia around lakes, rivers, swamps and other waterways both salt-water and fresh-water. They have also been found in PNG, west Indonesia, New Zealand and other Pacific islands.

An adult pelican are black and white feathered birds and has a yellow ring around the eye. New-born pelicans are pink (without feathers) and have their eyes open at birth.

The pelican's diet mainly consists of small fish. These fish are captured in the distinctive yellow-pink bill/pouch. They accept handouts from humans without second thought, and have been known to become dependant on this food source. They also eat seagulls, tadpoles, turtles and ducklings. The pelican drowns the seagulls and ducklings by capturing the bird in the bill and holding it under water. The drowned bird is then eaten headfirst.

The distinctive pouch is not used to store food for a long period of time. Rather, the bill is used to collect food. The hook on the top "lip" helps to grip slippery foods. The bill is sensitive, and this helps the pelican to source fish in murky and muddy waters.

When used to its complete capacity, the pelican can hold thirteen litres of fluid in its bill. The bill is used as a net to capture fish in deeper waters. As a fish is caught, the pelican will bring the bill towards its breast, emptying the remaining water from the bill before swallowing the fish.

The pelican is capable of flying thousands of kilometres at a time, in periods of time exceeding 24 hours. Instead of constantly flapping their wings, pelicans tend to soar though the air to speeds of 56km/hr. They are commonly seen flying at altitudes of 1000m, and sometimes up to 3000m.

Before breeding occurs, the male pelican must show himself worthy and committed to a female pelican. Courting begins with a large group of males following just one female. The female will lead the group of males in a chase until just one remains. During this courting period, the colour of the bill will vary from salmon pink to chrome yellow. The top of the bill may change to cobalt blue with a black diagonal strip appearing from base to tip.

The female prepares the nesting bed. The nest is typically a scrape in the ground, filled with leaves, sticks and feathers within reach of the scrape.

Within three days of breeding, one to three eggs are laid within a two to three day period. Both parents share the incubation period which lasts between 32 and 35 days. The first chick to hatch is typically a lot bigger than its siblings. This chick may kill its siblings, and consumes a majority of the food.

A chick will leave the nest after a month in a creche of up to 100 birds of a similar age. They stay with this creche for two months, learning how to fly and finding their independance.

Pelicans will typically live between 10 and 25 years.

Hmph

I could say alot today, but I don't feel like it (yes people, I do not feel like talking)... I am watching Dancing With The Stars, waiting for All Saints to come on, and hopefully not falling asleep in the meantime...

Went downtown and picked up a book for Nan today, and that was the extent of my day.

Am getting really sick of not being able to have caffine... I don't think it is making a whole lot of difference really...

Got offered a volunteer position doing clerical work for a family friend who works at BCS in Wagga... I don't know whether to take it for the meantime or not... In one sense, I suppose I should, but in another, I don't know if I want to be locked into something that I'm not going to be paid for...

I don't know!!

Ouchies!!

Two things:

1. I sliced my left index finger last night. I was cutting my toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches that I had for dinner at about 10.30 and my finger was in the way... It bleed for a good 30mins-ish... Still bleeding sometimes...

2. I am in the process of waiting for my dinner to cool-down... I just found that it was rather warm within the mouth... But it is still yummy (beef strogonoff for those who care - yes, I know I can not spell that word)...

Other than those two points, the past 24 hrs has been pretty good... Was arguing with Gram and Leigh last night about how to cook steak - I need opinions people (preferably ones that agree with me and my thoughts of not needing to sear/seal steak and turning it more than once toughens the meat, and don't go anywhere near steak with marinade...).. Applied for two more jobs this afternoon, one at Turvey Tops and one at Bomen...

I think that's about it...

Good Morning People!

How we all doing this morning?

Okay, ending overly cheerfulness...

Had a pretty good day today... Went to Wga Baps this morning, came home, put on a video (The Princess Diaries) and promptly fell asleep (Mum and Dad enjoyed it though)... Came online later this afternoon, did the word of the day, watched some tv (namely What not to wear - what a stupid show - you too can be told that the clothes you wear make you look fat and ugly and you really shouldn't be wearing that colour shirt by two very pregnant women who need to take their own advice about colours and cuts of shirts) and then headed out to UniChurch... For those UniChurch people (I think there is only one actually - hi Sam!!) this week we looked at John 16 and the Holy Spirit, next week is John 17... Then I came home - Note the time: I am home before 10 on a Sunday night!! :-O

Also for the Wagga people that read this blog and haven't already seen on Teh Forumnessessess (or whatever it is currently called) there is a Jazz Night out at the Uni on the 9th May (its a Monday and it is at night)... E-mail me (or leave a comment if you don't have my e-mail address) if you want more details...

And just for Tim, I shall write/type out the poem of the weekend words so far (I am running out of things that might be of some interest to someone... perhaps I need to start talking about three-point lighting or something equally as thrilling for others to read :P) :
Photoframe, Doorframe
Lightshade, Sunlight

You like so far?

It is windy outside... It smelt as if it had been raining out at the Uni, and the roads out there were all wet, so I am pressuming that there was some precipitation that fell from the sky...

I cooked dinner last night - Fettichini (if that is how you spell it right) Cabonara... It was alright for a first attempt... Perhaps I shouldn't present first-attempts when visitors are coming for dinner... (and just one day I might even learn to cook steak so that visitors don't have to cook their own lunch...)

And the Word was and the Word will be...

Today's word is: Sunlight.

(well, I have to keep up with the "theme" now of having both of the weekend words connected...)

I knew I would forget...

Today's word is: Lightshade.

And that was Saturday.

Hmm... Can't say today has been overly eventful... Went and got the weekend paper, had some people from Church over for dinner, and that's about it really... Cleaned my room up a bit (wasn't really that messy)... Bec W told me that I "have the beginnings of a good house wife"... Thanks Bec... I think...

EDITED.

Friday

Well... I got up early today - 9.15! I thought that was pretty good going really... I had a job interview with Aon... Aon is the largest insurance broker in Australia and World-wide... The job I was told that I had an interview for (I didn't even apply for it - WorkForce on Tap told me I was going for an interview on Friday morning at 11) was for a general dog's body, with the ability to progress in the company to be running an office (in Aust or somewhere else in the 120 countries that they have offices in) within 15 years. I don't want the job. I couldn't imagine anything worse than selling insurance for the next 15+ years...

Got home, had fish for lunch (cos I can eat that), did some prep work for tonight's CrossOver Trivia Night (I had to do the movie qtns and the music round), taught Dad how to use the food processor to make shepherd's pie for dinner, had a bit of dinner (even though I shouldn't have cos it had tomato sauce in it, and tomato sauce has got a LOT of sugar in it), went to CrossOver, had the trivia night, helped clean up (am I just lucky or do I always get the washing up instead of the wiping up) and then got home at about 9.50ish, and then had some more shepherd's pie and tomato sauce, so I probably won't sleep for a little while yet even though I am heaps tired...

Didn't get to take any more photos today... Maybe tomorrow...

I am listening to the music from Shine... It is really good music, even if it is coming out of my laptop speakers...

I kept having moths land in my dinner when I got home from CrossOver... Serves me right for eating at the kitchen table under the light... I really must think about cleaning up/clearing off all my stuff on the kitchen table tomorrow... there is alot of it here... TISH 2 (The Industrial Sized Handbag the second) is even sitting beside me!

Hmm... That'll do...

Be told me to add more photos...

So I did... And now I am thinking that I am going to have to go photo-ing tomorrow after my job interview... I'll atleast think about it...

Also from the 2003 PD/H/PE Outdoor Ed "camp"... This time it's Manly Beach (with all its bluebottles... Ange got stung and I had to take her up to the lifeguard cos she was scared of talking to the cute guy [yes! Ange was scared of talking to a cute guy - probably cos he wasn't in a military uniform])... Once again with my digital camera and no editing!

Somewhere in the Kar-rin-gai National Park (however you spell it... in Sydney) for the 2003 PD/H/PE Outdoor Ed "camp"... This is where we were meant to turn around (we didn't though...)... Taken with my digital camera (my dodgy-as digital camera) and not edited.

Taken on the same day as the last photo with the same camera (Canon A85 for those who care)... and I think I edited it (zoom in) (with either PhotoShop Elements 2.0 or PhotoImpression 5)... This is in our front "garden" before the horses got to it and ate all of the flowers (gazanias or whatever they are)... Now there is just dirt...

Thursday night coffee... Maybe...

Coffee is kind of interesting when you can't have it... Actually, no it's not. In order to try and sleep, my cousin and Gran suggested that I try a no-caffine, low-sugar and low-dairy diet... I'm already bored of it... No chocolate, coffee [not that I have had a cup of coffee lately(24th Sept was the last)], milo, soft-drink, most juices, sweet biscuits... I had vegemite on crumpets for dinner (haha Trina!)... didn't check the ingredients on the vegemite, but it should be alright... The crumpets had some glucose, but that should be all good...

I was told that I was getting angry last night because I was using lots of !! on MSN... Actually I was just laughing my head off, trying not to wake Mum and Dad up... I think I need to explain whether my !!s are angry or not...

I don't think I have a lot else to say... I'm thirsty, but there is only cordial, coke and milk in the fridge... And water in the tap, but I don't feel like water...

I was told at coffee tonight that Ange and Moink are going to take/drag me to the pub once I am 18 and get me absolutely drunk - I don't want to go!! Atleast not by myself, and I am not drinking. I am putting my foot down. I am not going. (And all you people are witnesses here.)

Hmm..

I have been told I need photos...

Over the side fence

The Gossies said that I need photos/pictures... So here is one of my parent's place (where I live) looking over our side fence onto the neighbour's property... It wasn't taken with my camera, it was used purely as a test for my grandparent's camera (which they don't know how to use...)

More pics coming soon Gossies!

I just realised something...

I don't know whether you noticed, but both of last weekend's words had to do with frames... I noticed that as I was watching Ladder 49 and drifting off to sleep at about 3.45 this morning...

Quick post today - I have to print off a job application, buy my cousin's birthday present, and get over to Junee to see said cousin (and her sister too)... Haven't seen Tab for about 15 months, and haven't seen Ned since her wedding (Nov 2002)...

Sitting here...

TV isn't too interesting tonight... All Saints isn't as good as what it usually is... I know there is a MVA with multiple traumas, but, its not too grand a show (23 mins into the show...)

Mum just said that she likes the new HandiUltra ad... It uses the Addams Family (da da da da [click click] da da da da [click click] da da da da da da da da da da da da [click click])... Yeah...

Hey!! Check out Sam's Word of the Week blog... You will have to wait until the 18th for the next word [as will I... :(] and you need to remind him to water Haberdashery and Pigeonhole and Trousers... Cos otherwise he will forget (oh, btw Sam, it was raining here on Sunday night... So much rain that I don't have to wash my car!! [Brilliant!!]) and they will die :(

I cooked dinner tonight. Sausages and mashed potato... It was pretty good, even if I say so myself...

Oh my goodness... This guy on All Saints is doing a really bad job at flirting with the nurse Jess... He has red fuzzy hair and he has soft tissue damage in his ankle as a result of falling off the stage when he won an award for metal work... Its bad... Slightly amusing, but bad acting...

Anyway... I'm bored. (Can you tell?)

My throat still hurts

I just thought you might like to know that.

I was up early (like, really early) this morning - 8 am!! Record it people! It's not going to happen again (atleast not again this week)...

Spent the morning driving my grandparents around town to various appointments, and then spent some time (& too much money) downtown and had lunch with them and then came home.

Um... I don't know that there is a whole lot more to say.

I was going to be doing some babysitting (my first lot since moving to Wagga two years ago!) tonight for LifeWorks, but the person had arranged her own babysitter... I might get another family of kids to look after once the course actually starts next term (tonight is the introductory dinner or something)... That would be nice!

Anyway... I'm listening to random songs... At the moment, it is Can't Get Enough Of Your Love by Barry White (it was performed on StarStruck the other week [actually, a while ago now] and the guy got through to the semi-finals or something...) I'll explain why I am listening to random songs soonishly (can't say anything for the next couple of days...)

I really shouldn't be sitting next to the bowl of Easter-eggs

Hmm... Life is peaceful...

I know I really should be doing something that is related to job-hunting, but it is so easy to look out the window and watch the magpie dancing on the washing line after having a shower under the sprinkler... And then there is the Easter-eggs... Let's just not go there...

I need some remedies to help me sleep!! Any ideas? Anyone?

I think I'll keep the word of the day to the word of the weekend-day... I will very quickly run out of words (Yes people! That is possible!!) if I do 7 a week rather than 2 a week... And I have to be careful not to "steal" Sam's words...

Now the magpie is shivering... And trying to spread itself out to dry whilst standing on the washing line in the sun... Oh! It just flew away over the fence (into the shade of some plants... I can't see it anymore...)

That must mean that I need to do some work until the next magpie comes along/my Grandparents get here...

It's back! (Within sight anyway!)... I really think that I should blog from the kitchen table rather than my room more often... I can see/hear more, and it is a whole lot easier than balancing my laptop on my bed and still being able to type...

EDIT (5/4/05): Spelling... Yes WWCC Yr 12 2004 people - I had to edit for spelling! *cringe*

I told you I'd add more...

Hey hey...

Um... I can't say I did alot this afternoon... I went to UniChurch... Sat by myself :( [this is what happens during Uni holidays and people go home to spend time with their families...] But it was still good :) The message was on John 15 and Living in the Vine/Living the Good Life/Bearing Fruit & being Pruned...

Anyway... The point of this post... At the moment over at Scammell's site there is a great song up in his "Song of the Moment" section... Really thought provoking... Take a look (I have even linked to it to make it really easy for you!)

Anyway... I'm already drinking my milo to make me sleep... Night all. :)

Today.

I'm still half asleep (I went back to bed this afternoon) so I might write more when I get home from UniChurch.

The word of today is: Doorframe.

Saturday... (What a title hey?!)

Well today is Saturday. To point out the obvious.

I woke up early today!! I was up (and awake) at 9.25! (Then I went back to bed for an hour...) But still! I was up and awake! AND I stayed awake for the entire day! (after that anyway)... So now I am tired and I might actually sleep tonight!!

Um.. So as you would know if you have been reading, today was Dad's birthday. The Healey's and the Winkler's came over for afternoon tea, and then we went and visited the Bragg's after dinner...

I changed my room around. It is now clean! :O!! And there is stuff on not one, but TWO bookcases (full to overflowing) and Mum and I swapped drawers, so now I can actually move in my room (at the moment I can anyway)...

Um.. I don't know that I have a whole lot more to say... I could say something that it really thought-provoking and intelligent, but that would also mean two things: a - I would actually have to be intelligent to think of something intelligent to say; and b - I would have to continue with this thought-provoking and intelligent thing in the future... Ha! Like that's going to happen.

I just thought of something that I can do. Words of the day! (Ha! Sam if you ever see this, I am doing days! Not weeks!! That's an extra SIX words per week! That could mean a whole lot more redskins! Not that you need more redskins... But redskins are good anyway! Who really needs an excuse for a redskin?)... Or maybe it will end up being word of the weekend or something... Dunno...

Today's word is: Photo-frame.

I am going to babble some more...

I'm tired.

I shouldn't be. I only woke up at 3pm (again). But I'm tired.

Grandparents came over this afternoon and took myself and my parents out for Dad's birthday (which is tomorrow)... Then I went to CrossOver (Youth Group)... We had the discussion (Why do we Baptise? [an outer sign of an inner decision]) and then played three games. Yep. Three games. Fresh, Sardines and Cludeo Charade (pronouced Shrade)... Then we had supper, and we cleaned up as the youth left... Then we (some of the leaders) sat around talking until about 20 to 10 (CrossOver finishes at 9)... Took Med-student Matt and Luke home via Coles to get Dad's birthday present. It's all good... Sardines in the darkened Church was interesting... I have a sore throat still so explaining it and doing the countdown was all a bit interesting... It's all good...

Once again I am aiming to go to bed before midnight... It might actually happen today...

And so (the very few people that read this), what did you do today?

Quizzes are good...

A - Age you got your first kiss: Still to happen
B - Band listening to right now: I'm not, and I can't remember the last one...
C - Crush: I'm not going to say! (hehe)
D - Dad's name: Peter
E - Easiest person to talk to: Anyone who will let me talk, and talk, and then talk back - people who'll listen without butting in
F - Favorite bands at the moment:I don't know... Depends on the mood... As I said last night, Aqua, Hanson, Coldplay and a few others have been listened to recently
G - Gummy bears or gummy worms: Either is good
H - Hometown: Grew up in Moss Vale, now call Wagga home
I - Instruments: Keyboard/piano and vocals
K- Kids: Not yet - not for a few years atleast...
L - Longest car ride ever: The trip to Bourke was pretty long, but technically that was a bus ride, and it was broken into two days, so it doesn't count... Um... How many hours is it from Lakes Entrance (Vic) to Ulladulla (NSW) someone? Either that day or going from Moss Vale to visit my grandparents in Coleambally (6 and a half hours-ish) or from Wagga to Sydney (that is only about 5 to 5 and a halfish hours - depends on who is driving)
M - Mum's name: Margaret
N - Nicknames: Kookaburra, Kylz, (Kookaburra Kylz), Witch Cackle, Robbo, Pork Chop, Hitler, (something to do with a chocolate bar - I didn't used to be a fan of chocolate), Hyena, Machine Gun (haven't been called those for a while... Quite a few years in fact), KylieBird, Smilie... need I go on?!
O - One wish: I don't know at this stage...
P - Phobia[s]: Hehe... I could say that I am "scared of anything taller than me" and then lie on the ground and scream and get sat on, kicked and hit by a little kid... Snakes would have to be up there with the "I'm scared ofs" but... I dunno...
Q - Quote: "Life should be lived looking forward" (and I don't remember the rest of the quote, or who said it, but that is the general gist of it)
R - Reason to smile: Knowing that I am loved
S - Song you sang last: I was playing "Only Hope" on the piano before I went downtown, so I was singing that over the radio in the car (8) So I lay my head back down/and I lift my hands and pray/to be only yours I pray/to be only yours/I know how you're my only hope (8) [I don't half use that msn emoticon much!!]
T - Time you woke up: Hehehe... 3pm when Dad woke me...
U - Unknown fact about you: Would you believe me if I said that I am actually quite shy when I want to be? No... Didn't think you would, but I am...
W - Worst habit(s): Always being sick... But that isn't really a habit, is it?! Um... regardless of what I was like in the common room, I'm not a tidy person...
X - X-rays you've had: Haha.. Here we go.. L knee, L little finger, stomach, ribs, arms, legs, wrists, elbows even... I think I have had my neck done too... And in all of that, only my L little finger was broken...
Y - Yummy food: Spaghetti bolognese, chicken deluxe pizza from Coloseum Moss Vale (chicken, ham, pineapple and double cheese)... even fresh mushrooms! lately... bit scary! I used to hate mushrooms!
Z - Zodiac sign: Gemini
